Getting Started

Is Rhinos suitable for beginners?
Yes. We welcome players of all abilities, including children who are completely new to football.

Do all players get equal opportunities?
Yes, at Rhinos, we focus on player development, enjoyment and inclusion, giving children a positive experience in football.

Can parents stay and watch?
Yes, parents are welcome to watch unless advised otherwise for a specific session or venue.

Do children need football experience to join?
No. Children do not need previous football experience to get started.

Can my child come for a trial session first?
Yes. First session is free so your child can come along and see if Rhinos is the right fit.

What age groups do you offer?
Rhinos offers football across a range of age groups, including early years sessions, development sessions and team football. Exact options depend on your child’s age.

What should my child bring to their first session?
Your child should wear comfortable sports clothing, suitable footwear and shin pads, and bring a water. 

Teams and Training

When are training sessions?
Tuesday and Thursday: 18:00 to 19:00
Saturday: 08:45 to 09:45 for younger age groups up to U11s
Saturday: 10:00 to 11:00 for U12s and older

What is the difference between Training Only and Team Training?
Training Only is for players who want to attend sessions without joining a team. Team Training is for players who have been offered a team place and includes matches on a Sunday as well as training.

Can my child train if there is no team space available?
Yes, in many cases players can still train with us while waiting for a team place to become available.

How do I know if there is space in a team?
Team availability depends on age group and current squad numbers. Please contact Terry or Jeffrey to check current availability - Info@blackheathrhinos.co.uk

Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions take place at Hervey Road Sports Fields, SE3 8BU.

What is Rhinos Totz?
Rhinos Totz is an early years football session for younger children, focused on fun, movement and building confidence.

Do girls have their own sessions?
Yes. Rhinos Wildcats offers girls’ football in a fun and supportive environment.

Do you offer holiday camps?
Yes. Rhinos Holiday Camps run during school holidays and are open to children of different abilities.

Do you offer football parties?
Yes. Rhinos Parties are available for children wanting a fun, active football-themed celebration.
